    A lifelong resident of Kentucky, Richard Kolb is a proud graduate of the University of Kentucky and an accomplished metal sculptor. He uses mostly scrap and recycled parts to create metal birds, critters, dogs and cats. Some of the materials he uses include garden tools, car parts, farm implements, bicycle parts and mufflers.

    "I think these sculptures are a great way to contribute to the good of the environment," Richard says. "They save rejected metal parts from ending up in a landfill and they beautify homes and yards everywhere!"

    "I believe the things that make us happiest in life are not always the necessities, but usually the things that we do not need."

    I just received my Garden Frog Springer (the umbrella one). It is so cute. I should have bought two, one for me and one for the recipient! I'd give this item a solid five out of 5 stars. I also contacted Customer Service with what I thought was a problem. I spoke with Renee. She was very cheerful and helpful. I'd give her 5 stars too! I so enjoy shopping for the "uncommon" at Uncommon Goods.

    I bought the frog with the umbrella for my adult daughter. She loves frogs, and has a big collection (and a frog tattoo). I thought it was going to be small enough for a Christmas ornament, but it's much bigger and heavier than I expected. She loves it especially the way it bounces on the spring. Now we just have to find the right place to hang it.
