What Makes It Uncommon
Bibliophile's Delight
Mister Arthurious's prints of first edition book covers powerfully evoke the stories the writers wrote--and also the stories behind the books. The 1877 publication of Anna Sewell's Black Beauty quickly inspired anti-cruelty legislation in both England and the US. First published anonymously in 1818, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein was the result of a challenge to write the best ghost story between herself, her husband Percy Bysshe Shelley, and Lord Byron. The Picture of Dorian Gray was first published in 1890, in a magazine whose editor, worried it was indecent, cut about five hundred words from it without informing its author, Oscar Wilde. The high-quality, shadow-boxed photo prints look amazingly crisp and real, because each book has been carefully photographed to retain original marks and wear and then remastered to highlight every What Makes It Uncommon of the cover design. birch wood, acrylic glass, matte heavy archival paper, pigment ink

Customer Reviews
Annie, the reader
The Secret Garden was my favorite book growing up. I still read it at least once a year ( i'm in my 70's!). This framed cover is just unbelievable. So beautiful, so real and looks like you could touch it and it would be a book cover!...I'm very impressed with the quality of the cover print. The price was very appropriate. and I would order it again!!

I have had this gift idea for 1.5 years and finally purchased it for my daughter. She is a college student with a love of the classics and her favorite book is M Shelly's Frankenstein. She was floored by the gift! Great quality, came on time and was easy to order.

Got the Pride and Prejudice one for a friend. She loved it.

We gave the Black Beauty framed first edition cover print as a gift to someone who loves horses and of course loves this book. She loved it! We'd been wanting to purchase it for a while, so we were glad we could get it in time for Christmas this year!
Court
Hung up on my wall. The art is bigger than the book itself. The frame looks great and new and sturdy.

My wife, a literature professor, was very excited and pleased to get the Virginia Woolf first edition cover. I, on the other hand, was disappointed to see that the frame is loose and needs to be glued so that it can be properly hung,
Diane
I loved that I could provide my son with the artwork of a first edition of his favorite novel while not being able to actually purchase a first edition copy.
Red Driver
Looks wonderful in her classroom!
Andrea
I'm not sure why I thought it would have more of an original worn feel to it… looking at the pictures that's what I felt…. But when it came and I opened it… it's really just a colored/ scanned piece of nice paper with the book cover on it. Framed. It's just not what I was expecting and it's to close to Christmas to really change my mind. I'm just being honest.
Julie
Perfect! Even better than I expected! She absolutely loved it!
