  • What Makes It Uncommon
Bees are the very definition of a hustler. Buzzing around all day, these busybodies keep blossoms blooming, crops growing, and the oh-so-sweet honey flowing. But just like us, they need to stay hydrated to stay strong. Add Catherine Murphy's handmade steel sculpture to your outdoor space and give parched pollinators a spot to stop and sip on sunny days that doubles as a precipitation tracker on rainy ones.

    • Sculpture crafted from copper-coated–steel featuring a natural patina with a rainbow-like effect.
    • Glass rain gauge reveals how much precipitation your yard receives and whether it needs extra watering.
    • Catherine crafts each structure with a mix of tools and materials, like using a press to create wings and shaping bee bodies with bent copper wire./li>
    • Includes a 36"-tall stake to place the sculpture in your garden, lawn, or backyard.
    • Made in North Carolina.

    Catherine Murphy

    created by Catherine Murphy

    location

    North Carolina

Growing up in a military family, Catherine Murphy spent her childhood discovering natural beauty around the world. But whenever she creates a new piece, she imagines it living in her favorite place: "a fabulous garden," she says, adding that she's "amazed and inspired by life in the garden." Her nature-themed copper sculptures are made to enhance green spaces. It's the merging of her two loves that "feeds my soul and keeps me motivated," she says. If she ever gets stuck, she heads out into the nature around her North Carolina home. "My go-to spot is a bench by the river," she says. "Living in the mountains and working beside a river make for a wealth of inspiration."
