  • What Makes It Uncommon
Holly Yashi’s exquisite earrings feature an enchanting mix of Austrian crystals and Bohemian glass, blending inlaid and raised textures with the vivid hues of niobium. Each pair reflects the sea’s beauty, with colors that shift in the light thanks to niobium’s oxidation—a natural process that ensures the vibrant shades will never fade or tarnish. Inspired by the shimmering tide pools near Holly’s California studio, they’ll evoke the beauty of the sea and lend effortless elegance to any outfit.

    • The 18k gold–plated top discs are inlaid with Austrian crystals and Bohemian glass for spectacular colors.
    • The bottom disks of niobium showcase lush shades of blue and green—every color you see comes from one "dip" into an electrically charged water bath that Holly specially designed to speed up niobium's natural oxidation process.
    • Fishhook ear wires.
    • Handmade in California.

    Care

Remove jewelry before swimming and showering. Avoid sand, salt, and sweat. For everyday and routine cleaning, warm water and a mild dish soap works great. Let the jewelry sit in the solution for a minute, rinse, and wipe with a soft cloth. Repeat as needed.

    location

    California

Holly Hosterman was a trained jewelry artist and metalsmith fresh out of college and working three jobs. Paul "Yashi" Lubitz was a high-energy guy with tons of business ideas, but had never had a "real" job. They knew they wanted to work together, and they started their own jewelry company in a one-car garage, hand-cutting animal-shaped earrings out of brass and silver. They now have a 50-person crew in a studio nestled in the small town of Arcata, in the heart of California's redwoods.
