  • What Makes It Uncommon
When chefs say fresh herbs make all the difference, they speak the truth. But where does that leave those of us with no garden, no time, and no green thumb? Harvest all that flavor with very little work with Sarah Burrows and Nick Behr's colorful, vintage-style jars.

    • Pure charm on the outside and smart science on the inside: Each jar uses a passive hydroponic system that brings nutrients up to the plants' roots while regulating moisture—eliminating guesswork about watering and soil consistency.
    • Plant the included seeds of your choice, put water in the reservoir, place the jar in a sunny window, and get growing.
    • Choose from five favorite herbs: Basil, Mint, Cilantro, Rosemary, and Parsley.

    Sarah Burrows and Nick Behr

created by Sarah Burrows and Nick Behr

Prior to launching their company, Sarah and Nick struggled to sustain a kitchen garden in their fourth-floor Chicago apartment. Despite both honing their gardening skills as children, as busy adults they struggled to grow anything (container gardening is incredibly challenging). They turned to hydroponics for help and were astounded by the results, but unimpressed with the quality of products available. With that, the seed for their stylish, space-saving indoor gardens was planted.

I have given these as gifts. I appreciate the hand painting of the jars, the uniqueness, and the gift of watching the plant grow., a gift that is on-going.

These unique jars provide a daily gift for the recipient as he or she watches the plant develop and grow and then provide mint for the tea-drinkers.

Loved the decorative jars and idea. Bought as gift so can't comment on how it grows.

The packaging and jar are really nice. I followed the instructions and sprinkled the Rosemary seeds on the rocks (medium) and waited about 2 weeks and then saw my first little sprout. I was super excited and waited another week to see if I would get more sprouts before adding the fertilizer as instructed but only got the one sprout. I added the fertilizer a couple of days ago and have my fingers crossed. If I get more growth I'll be really happy but it looks like the one seed that sprouted is the only seed that will. I guess I can always use the jar for something else if it doesn't work out or I might try to buy more seeds and just add them.

I am a novice when it comes to gardening but have been trying to cook healthier with fresher ingredients. The indoor parsley mason jar was a fun addition to the kitchen which was perfect for both my non green thumb and my recipes ! My only call out is the water fill line seemed more than 2 cups of water that was instructed to use in the directions. Otherwise easy peasy !

The kit was super easy to use, and now I have little sprouts popping up! I wish there were more seeds to use after this round.
