What Makes It Uncommon
Get a Nest!
Ornithologists say beak-to-beak action between cardinals is just feeding, not kissing. But if you ask us, there’s something romantic going on between these two lovebirds. Phil Walters’ Cardinal sculpture is cut from weathering steel that naturally acquires a patina over time, giving your feathered friends a bit of charm. Just like real Cardinals, this couple will stick together through every season. Designed in New Zealand. Made in Utah.Made from

Notes
The birds are made from premium weathering steel. Once installed, there’s not a lot to do. Your bird is designed and made to rust and form a protective coating that seals and slows the rate of corrosion giving your bird a long life and a beautiful patina that changes with the seasons.

created by Phil Walters
location
New Zealand
In 2009, Phil Walters had a dream to spread happiness around New Zealand with birds. He created dozens of life-sized stencils of feathered friends, and went around putting birds on fences, power poles, sidewalks anywhere he could get away with it. People really took to the sweet designs, and soon he realized he wanted to send them around the world. But he couldn't paint the world in feathers, so he decided to make steel sculpture versions. Today, he is the proud owner of a small metal art company that crafts all sorts of birds to stick in your yard. His hope is that the designs surprise and delight you and your guests for many years.
