  • What Makes It Uncommon
A popular gift during the Lunar New Year, the money tree is said to trap fortune and luck in the folds of its beautiful braided trunk. Each stalk typically bears five to six leaves, but keep a lookout for additional growth (more leaves could equal more luck). These potted lucky charms are traditionally placed in the southeast area of your home, office, dorm, or workstation for best results.

    • Measures 14–16, but can grow up to 6 feet indoors.
    • Choose from three pot styles and colors: white, jute, or wood.
    • Money trees are nontoxic and a safe choice for pet parents.
    • Note: Due to regulations, this item cannot be shipped to Alaska or Hawaii.

    Care

Your Money Tree prefers indirect bright light, and can adjust to lower light. Too much direct light will scorch the leaves, too little will cause slow growth and yellow leaves. Rotate your plant monthly to keep growth even. A grow light is also effective. Water your Money Tree when the soil volume is 50-75% dry. Always check the soil moisture before watering. Water thoroughly until you see water flow out of the drainage hole and discard any excess water in the saucer. Your Money Tree does well in average household humidity. However, if the air is very dry it will appreciate the occasional humidity boost. Your Money Tree is most comfortable in temperatures between 65-80°F. Feed once a month in the spring and summer when it is producing new leaves with a general-purpose fertilizer at half strength. Always make sure the soil is damp before applying any fertilizer. Money Trees are considered safe for pets. Try not to move your Money Tree very often, since they prefer consistency.
