What Makes It Uncommon
For the Love of Books
No bookshelf is complete without a trinket or two, especially if they celebrate your family’s love of reading. Handmade from copper, this little sculpture features two to five members of your own personal literary circle, books in hand and connected at the feet. It’s a fun way to celebrate your family, whether they prefer to dig into historical biographies, get lost in YA dystopian romance, or enjoy other leisurely pursuits. Set it in front of your collection of novels, and you’ve got yourself one heartwarming shelfie (that’s a selfie of your shelf) to share on social media. Handmade in North Carolina.Made from
copper wire, clear coat

location
North Carolina
Growing up in a military family, Catherine Murphy spent her childhood discovering natural beauty around the world. But whenever she creates a new piece, she imagines it living in her favorite place: "a fabulous garden," she says, adding that she's "amazed and inspired by life in the garden." Her nature-themed copper sculptures are made to enhance green spaces. It's the merging of her two loves that "feeds my soul and keeps me motivated," she says. If she ever gets stuck, she heads out into the nature around her North Carolina home. "My go-to spot is a bench by the river," she says. "Living in the mountains and working beside a river make for a wealth of inspiration."

M
This shelf sculpture makes a great gift because it's so easy to find a place for it! You just sit it on a shelf or windowsill or the edge of a table. Unlike wall art, the recipient doesn't have to make holes in the wall or fret over where to place it, because it can move around so easily. Such a cool gift for a family of readers. #sweepstakes
