- Place the butterfly puddler in a sunny, protected place. Fill the heart-shaped blue well with sand, then cover with water. Butterflies crave the minerals and salts left behind as the water evaporates.
- Refill with water when needed.
- You can also place overripe fruit on the puddler, or add a pinch of salt to the water to attract the butterflies.
- Once butterflies know where they can find these nutritious treats, they return regularly.
